God created the world. He put humans in it and gave us the freedom to care
for and enjoy it to the full. Yet from the start each of us
rebel against Him, following our own desires. Though hurt, God
does just what we want: He allows us to rule our own lives,
cutting ourselves off forever from the source of life and all
goodness, Himself. We all become slaves to our rebellious attitude,
choosing separation and death.
However, God loves us
and has not abandoned us. He sent his Son, Jesus, who never rebelled
and so did not face separation. Yet Jesus freely chose to take
the full force of God's anger at our rejection, to give up
his life, to pay our debts. Jesus died, but He rose again; He
conquered death, setting us free to have eternal life.
Jesus offers us this free gift of a new relationship with God.
If we will only turn to him and put our trust in Him, we can be
completely free to live as we were made to rather than be cut off
forever. Where does that leave us? It leaves us with a decision;
to continue in slavery or choose freedom. The choice is there.
It is your most important decision ever.
